My name is
Melissa Fenner. I am currently in my 2nd year teaching at
Pomfret
Community
School. Last year I enjoyed teaching
the Integrated Studies and I am so happy to be back this year in a Math teaching
capacity. I am currently teaching 6th, 7th and 8th
grade Math and am enjoying working with all of the grades team teachers
A little bit about me - I attended K-12
schools in
Newtown
, CT and then attended Western
Connecticut
State
University where I graduated in 1991 with a B.A. in Communications/Theatre Arts.
Following graduation, I worked as an Office Manager in the Chiropractic Field.
It was there that, I realized there was somewhere else I needed to be and
decided to pursue a career in education- and I know it is where I belong. So, I
received my MS in Education from UNH in January of 1996, completed an internship
and my student teaching in the Newington Public Schools. I then taught for 2 years as a 7th grade Math teacher in the
Ellington Public School
system. After spending quality
time (8 years) with my two sons, Jake and Max, I returned to teaching in 2006
and am thrilled Pomfret is where I have landed.
