Project Oatmeal

Founded by Three 6th Grade Students

Project Oatmeal is a project in the cafeteria that recycles "Lunchables" and plastic bottles. The three of us decided that many people have been wasting our materials that can be recycled. We thought that our school should be less wasteful and help the environment! There are two different boxes labeled ‘Lunchables’ and ‘Bottles.’ You can find these next to the trash in the cafeteria. The ‘Lunchables’ box should only receive the outside cardboard from "Lunchables" and "Kid Cuisine" packages. Throw away the plastic from these packages into the trash. The ‘Bottles’ box should only receive plastic bottles that have a Number 1 or Number 2 on them.

We are still deciding how to properly dispose of our recyclables. We are going to separate the refundable bottles from the non-refundables and get money for them. Whatever money we will get back will be donated to the school.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in Project Oatmeal!
