Art Instructor Biographies

 

I have been an art teacher for fourteen years. Prior to P.C.S., I spent nine years teaching art in East Hartford. I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design and majored in Architecture and Fine Arts. I received my certification from Central Connecticut State University. I also worked as an architect for five years after graduating from RISD. After having volunteering as a summer art instructor at New Britain Museum of American Art, I decided that teaching was my passion and thus pursued a degree in teaching Art.  

 
 

Hello!  My name is Mrs. O'Brien and I teach art to the Pre-K, first and second grade students at P.C.S.  This is my first year at P.C.S. and my third year teaching in Connecticut.  Prior to moving to C.T., I worked as a teaching artist in New York City while pursuing my graduate degree in Fine Art at Pratt Institute.

I'm very excited to be working at a HOT School and I have many creative projects that aim to inspire.  I just know it will be an inspiring year for me as well!
