October 6, 2009  Hartford State Capitol  Chaperones Needed

The students usually have spelling and math to complete each evening.  In addition your child should be reading at least 20 minutes each night.  Please let me know through a note or email if your child is having difficulty with the homework or the homework is lasting more than 1 hour.  The average time for homework is 40 minutes in fourth grade.   

Please sign your child's planner for the first two weeks.  It is also part of their assigned homework.   

Parent Information  

Quizzes will be given every Friday in various subjects.  

Your child will bring home a packet of work each Friday.

Your child has been assigned a locker for coats, boots, back packs, etc.  We do not allow locks in fourth grade.  

Please make sure your child is bundled for the weather.  Recess is a great time to enjoy the changing season! 

Book orders from  Scholastic and Trumpet book clubs are passed out every 1-2 months.  This is a great opportunity for students to choose books of interest at reasonable prices.  The due date for orders will vary month to month depending on the day they are given.  The students usually have 2 weeks to choose books and return the order if they are planning to purchase books.  

Please make checks payable to either "Scholastic Book Club" or "Trumpet Book Club. "
