ANNUAL EVENTS
ANNUAL EVENTS

Sixth Grade
now has a full year of Science classes that are taught by Mr. Hotchkiss. As part of the study of
Natural Resources (ecology and biomes) we often go to The Roger Williams Zoo in Providence, Rhode
Island. |

Annually we go
to
Ragged Hill Wood at the 4-H Camp in Pomfret. The program enriches our
knowledge of deciduous or aquatic biomes. We either orient
ourselves through the woods or have a great time splashing through the brook and into
the pond finding small animals. |

As part of our Social Studies
Curriculum we will be going to the Boston Museum of fine Arts. There we
will view and draw many artifacts from ancient civilizations. |
Science
related field trips include a trip to the Connecticut Science Center in
New London. There we use forensic information and high-tech experiments
to solve problems. This trip is the first of a three year program that
engages students in the hands-on application of scientific learning. |

Throughout the year we go to a
few plays that are presented through the 3C's program. |
